The Interplay of Architecture and Nature
Year: 2024

Medium: Pencil drawing, digital photography

I embarked on a journey to document my experiences traveling to Angkor Dance School through sketches inspired by photographs taken along the way. This exploration allowed me to observe the vibrant stilt houses and architectural elements of Siem Reap, aiming to capture their essence and connection to nature. Each aspect of this architectural heritage, from intricate floor plans to towering columns, tells a story of a resilient community and its environment.

I began by sketching the everyday lives of Siem Reap's citizens, showcasing their connection to nature as they rely on fresh fruits, vegetables, and leaves for packaging. My tuk-tuk journeys took me to silk and lotus farms, where I learned about sustainable practices that utilize every part of the lotus.

I further explored Siem Reap's heritage through conceptual drawings of Angkor Wat's construction methods, Ta Prohm Temple's tree integration, and Bayon Temple's interplay of architecture and light, capturing the region's spirit.
